Hard Lessons during Slavery

Posted August 14th, 2009 by student. Comment (0).

Way back in the day, slavery started. I think that if there was peace in the world there wouldn’t have been any slavery. If there was peace in the world gangs wouldn’t be insulting other gangs and violent towards one another. Bullies wouldn’t be bullying other kids. The robbers wouldn’t rob banks. They would also stop stealing purses. The cops would have less work on their hands. There would be less deaths and less mourning from families. The world would be a much better and safer place without negativity.

One day there was a snowman that live in an igloos was in his home to relaxing. When he`s done relaxing he goes outside to smell the fresh air. Then he goes inside to get a drink. While he is drinking hot chocolate he realizes that he starts to melt. He then runs around outside and start to roll around in the snow to try and rebuild his body that melted off.

Summer Goals

Posted August 14th, 2009 by student. Comment (0).

My goal for this summer is to write 100 pages before school starts. Sadly, it’s not that easy. But I know if I try, I could do it! I also want to win a basketball game. My team has been losing and it’s time to win! I want to do better in school. I also want to help my friends. Sometimes, they don’t understand something in class. So, I could help them do better. If I help them, I will feel better about myself.

Ashir

This summer, I want to be smarter in math, writing, English, slavery, and the Holocaust. My goal this summer is to do my best. I can’t be sad or angry at everything. I have to learn how to be patient. This summer, I want to control my behavior. My other goal is to treat my teachers, friends, and classmates with more respect. My summer goal is to be a better person.

Ishan

I have many goals for this summer. I have goals for math, slavery, the Holocaust, science, exercise, karate, reading, writing, principles, and journalism. I want to do better in these classes and activities. These goals are very important to me. If I achieve them, I will feel really good about myself. However, I need to achieve these goals before the summer ends. These goals are important to me and everyone here in summer camp.

All about Peace

Posted August 14th, 2009 by student. Comment (0).

By Nicholas

A peaceful world will have no wars and gangs that kill other people. People will throw their garbage in the trash instead of on the floor. Also they won’t spit on the floor and stick their gum under desks. People won’t fight and have arguments and there won’t be any more slavery && holocaust. There will be no killing of Jews, Nazi’s and no more Hitler. There won’t be any white people taking black people to be their slaves. The Nazi’s will stop killing the Jews and there won’t be another Holocaust. The Jews will live in peace && the African Americans will live in peace without slavery. Both will live in peace && harmony forever. The world will be clean without anyone littering the streets with their garbage.
Nicholas

Peace

If it was peace in the world I think there wouldn’t be any homeless or people who get treated differently than others. The world would be peaceful clean and animals would be everywhere. People would not fight one another, everyone will be friends, countries would be at peace and everyone would have equal rights. No one would go without food and everyone will be happy and full of joy.

On A Snow Day

Posted August 14th, 2009 by student. Comment (0).

Once upon a time on a cold winter day there were two kids getting ready to go outside to play. They were looking forward to having a snowy day all year. Gabriella said mom “ am going to make a snow man and then dress him up.” Jessie said “no way! We are going to have a snow ball fight first.” So they both went out side and had a snow ball fight. They were having a lot of fun in the snow because they were just moving to New York from Florida and never had a snow day. After a while they made a snow man with a carrot for a nose, sticks for arms, rocks for buttons, and poked holes in for eyes. Then, they went inside for a hot cup of hot chocolate, their mom read them a story and they lived happily ever after in their new home.

My Visit to the Park

When I went to the park I saw my friend Colby. When I saw him he was at the swings. Colby is a very fast runner. When I raced Colby I tried to beat him but he beat me. After the race was over my knee begin to hurt. So I went and sat on the bench for a couple of minutes. My friend Davonte came over and asked me did I want to play freeze tag. I said yes but you have to be it Davonte and he said ok. When we was playing I was to fast for him so I slowed down. But when I slowed down and Davonte finally caught me. After me and Davonte’s games of freeze tag it was time to go. Davonte came up to me and said what happen to your knee and I said its nothing it doesn’t even hurt no more.

Reading/Writing

One hot and sunny morning Mr. Bells was getting ready to take his every morning jog. So Mr. Bells put on his jogging suit and grabbed his water bottle. He filled it with ice cold water. Then grabbed his keys and was on his way out the door. Suddenly he felt a drop on his head so he turned around and said “AHHHHHH.” What happened to my house why is it flooding.

After that he ran in and out the house trying to grab everything he could. While panicking Mr. Bell started to drop things he was carrying. When Mr. Bell got tired and stopped on his stoop. Al of a sudden he felt that drop again. He looked up and saw that the water was coming from his air conditioner up in his room. His house wasn’t melting. Mr. Bell realized he needed a person to repair his air conditioner. So he called the air conditioner company and told him that they will come fix it. Ten minutes later the repairer came and fixed it. Mr. Bell told the man thank you very much.

My goal for this summer is to help other students do well in school. I also want to help counselors and teachers encourage and help students. My other goal is to do better in math and social studies. This summer, I want to win the lottery. If I had a billion dollars, I would give it to Africa and the poor. Summer Goals

This summer, I want to go to my grandma’s house. When I’m at her house, I want to help her as much as I can. Since she’s elderly, she can’t do as many things as I could do. My other goal is to help my friends in their spelling.

Last Winter

Posted August 12th, 2009 by student. Comment (0).

Last winter, somebody’s house was filled with snow. The house had a lot of icicles all over the window. The tree had no leaves, but it had a lot of snow. The people built a snow man with a black hat and it had branches for arms. The house had big balls of snow coming down. It was so exciting to see this house. I wish my house could look like this. So, I asked my mom if she could come with me to see the house. She was amazed by everything. I asked and begged her if we could have our house look the same way next year. Guess what? She said “YES”!!

Summer Goals

One of my goals for the summer is to read as many books as I can. A second goal I have for the summer is to go back to school focused and on task. A third goal I have for the summer is to show my camp teacher, Mr. Turner, that I can do my multiplication tables. I also want to show him that I’ve been listening to his lessons. My fourth goal is to become a better writer by making my sentences more detailed. I also want to upgrade my vocabulary and make baby words into big, bold adult words by the end of this summer. I have many goals this summer.

Mahogany

Summer Goals

This summer, I want to complete all my school work. My second goal is to control my behavior. I won’t get angry and talk back to my teachers. My other goal is to start respecting others. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect. I want to listen only once and not have things repeated to me. So, I have to listen very carefully when my teacher is speaking. I also want to stop playing with toys and games. It’s more important to focus on my work. My last goal for the summer is to practice my multiplication tables.                                                                                                              Bryce
